Orpheus - "Can't Find The Time" (1969 TV Performance)
I don't remember this. I would have been 11 years old when it came out. It is fantastic. Sounds similar to two favorites from that period, The Walker Brothers and Jay and the Americans. Great harmonies.
@@keithepley2132 Scott Walker was a fan of our lead singer Bruce Arnold.
They removed this version from Spotify 🥹 it was my absolute favorite
@@paulaalmeidareastephens3317 We recently terminated the copyrights for our compositions and settled a lawsuit for years of unpaid royalties. The unscrupulous Alan Lorber of Iris Properties, which controls the publishing of the original recordings appears to be retaliating by scrubbing our music from all streaming platforms. SIMPLER times. PRECIOUS for us who remember them!
Makes me think when i here this smooth melody it takes me back in time and all the folks that are no longer hear but also how far I've come one precious Life is all we have so Live it to the fullest beautiful easygoing song i can Listen to it anytime.
The best song that never went anywhere!
Wikipedia - Orpheus is an American rock band originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, that enjoyed popularity in the 1960s and early 1970s, featuring lead singer/songwriter Bruce Arnold. They had two charted Billboard Hot 100 singles, "Brown Arms in Houston" and "Can't Find the Time," both released on MGM Records. Original band members, including Stephen Martin, Jack McKennes, Eric "Snake" Gulliksen, and Harry Sandler, along with Robert Emmet Dunlap and Kathi Taylor, performed for many years in New England as Orpheus Reborn.[1] [2]
I grew up with Orpheus, listening to what, Bruce?WBZ radio at night. Birth as a Bostonian, at my two years old, we settled in Stoughton Massachusetts. As I recall, I was listening in senior year just before I was going to college at Wesleyan University, the school year, which I graduated from Stoughton High School in 1968. I loved and was mesmerized by Orpheus song “can’t find the time“.
We missed our chance rip I'll see over the bridge ❤
This beautiful song is one of my all-time favorites! I reached out to Orpheus through their social media account to ask about purchasing some music and to my great delight they offered to send me the files to the music. They said they are happy to provide music files, lyrics, and signed CDs to their fans free of charge. They also asked me if I wanted to be included on their mailing list because they send complimentary Orpheus goodies to their fans. Who does anything like that these days? Thank you, Orpheus!
Wonderful song
Apple Music took this song down, dang it thank god for RUclips
@@JGmoney88 After years of never receiving a cent in royalties, we have finally regained control of Bruce Arnold's publishing. Unfortunately for Orpheus fans, the notorious Alan Lorber of Iris Properties (who owns the masters) has removed Orpheus music from all streaming platforms. @@orpheusband that is AWESOME!! I will definitely email you guys. Thank you for the great music and memories y’all, class acts for that!
This is not lip-sink. They have microphones on them. Bruce Arnold has a lallier microphone on him and so do the other members.
The late Dick Summer brought me here.
I’m back in Norway on vacation and It reminds me of my first girlfriend Great tune Miss the early FM station in NY 102.7
I always play this when I just want to feel great!
Such an underrated song. LOVE it.
Great song , very good group
Heard this in movie Me, Myself & Irene
ME MYSELF AND IRENE...😂😂😂🤣💀☠️
I have watched this video hundreds of times I have been listening to that song since 1968 I think. I still have my original 45 and I still have a stereo to play it on. I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just puts me into a whole different orbit. Where is the music today?
Look at that pretty face and I fall in love with you every time I see you, yea!
I’m the youngest of four boys. My oldest brother used to play this all the time. ❤
Wow. You just never know when someone famous is walking in the door
If you missed the 60s and 80s I feel bad for you. You missed the life in America before it was totally destroyed. I pray it comes back for you as I’ll be gone.
1974 The Citadel Columbia SC. The good old days before Biden democrats ruined America. 😢
This Song is very close to Perfect! I would have produced it a bit different But...I wouldn't have changed the lyrics or the Exceptional Vocals!
I made a video of my family, a day in the life type of video of just good moments with my wife and kids and parents came over, I put this song in the background. It one of my favorite videos to watch and this song is the reason why. Fits perfectly
My 60s lifeline ❤️
yup
This song takes me back to innocence :)
It has a feel to it of The Beatles' "You Can't Do That".
This is first song Bruce arranged for the group when he transitioned from folk. He has called The Beatles his biggest influence in nearly every interview - many of which you can hear on this channel.
See?? Worcester has indeed produced legendary songs!! (At least one, anyway....)
I didn't know they're from Massachusetts. Great, so am i. ❤❤❤
Born and raised in Worcester and founded #CongressAlley.
How dare they take this off of Spotify
You can thank the notorious Alan Lorber of Iris Music Group.
Beautiful song, but that sure is a bizarre-looking album cover. Wish I could get a better look at the people responsible for the music.

Yes we all ask the same question, like is a falling snowflake… I guess 72 years on a planet 4.5 billion is a heartbeat but that’s all we have. Thank gos we were able to listen to Such incredible music as this great Song❤️
It's 2024 and I still love this song.
Hootie & the Blowfish did this song good justice
I've always loved this song since I was a kid!! ❤❤
Wow, really feeling the love in all these nostalgic comments!! I'm 32 years old, and was disappointed at first to find that 99% of my favourite music was actually samples and covers. Then I started digging into those classics myself, and I guess this was one stop on the road to the meaning of 'timeless.'
55 years later, I still come here once a week to play this song. I have the original 45 but I’m always with my phone so it’s much easier. I can tell you after 55 years. I still don’t know the meaning of the lyrics but it’s a beautiful beautiful song.❤

Great enduring song that I first heard live when at BC.
Now this is great music.
on my way to da nam and this song pops in my head
One of the best songs of all time !!!
I see myself daydreaming to this song in study hall in HS wondering if anyone would love me enough to write me a song. This song is so perfect as a classic for the 60s. Love reading the comments.
